Dafe Diegbe
Senior Associate
Our team understands how intellectual property assets can best be created, how their values are created and rights in them are protected. We support and advise our clients with respect to due diligence, IP valuation, acquisition of IP, and related agreements and partnerships/ joint ventures with an aim to transfer/ share/ development of IP. We also represent them before various authorities, courts and forums on issues relating to the registration and protection of IP rights.
Emeka Ogbonnaya
Senior Associate
He is a founding member of the firm, educated at the University of Benin and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1988. Dafe is a Senior Associate of the firm, who oversees the branch office at Calabar, Cross Rivers. He has settled a myriad of cases in his over 34 years of law practice in all areas of the practice.
Udu Diegbe
Principal Associate
Udu bagged his L.L.B from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1993. He is a Notary Public, a Negotiator extraordinaire. He oversees the firm’s operations and has done so excellently since its inception. In addition to his many professional accomplishments, Udu has dealt with numerous International Commercial transactions and arbitrations.
Lona Aako-Adekwu
Managing Solicitor
Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2005. Lona received a Degree in Law from the University of Jos, Plateau State. She is a Notary Public, an administrator, a counselor, and an arbitrator. Lona Aako-Adekwu is a Senior Partner and is the Managing Solicitor of the Firm. She is carrying on a master’s Program in Maritime Laws and another in Conflict Management and Peace Studies at Nasarawa State University and the Prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy, respectively. A member of the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance, USA, and a recipient of a merit award from the Rotary Club, Jos, she is on course to being inducted as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration. Lona is an avid drafter and critical thinker and has drafted many winning addresses for cases in Court as well as Policies for many companies and government agencies. Her passion for the legal profession and her community and humanity is the basis on which she strives to protect the best interests of her clients.
Christy Uwaya
Associate
She is a graduate of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State wherefrom she graduated in 2014, and was called to the Nigerian Bar Association in 2015. She also completed her National Youth Service in Kaduna State, with Emmanuel Toro and Co SAN, in October 2016. She is a Chartered Mediator and Conciliator; having acquired the said knowledge and skills from the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators. She recently became a Chartered Secretary and Administrator and a member of ICSAN. She is currently studying for a master’s degree in Commercial Law at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She worked as an In-House Solicitor/Secretary at a reputable company and as a junior counsel with another law firm before joining us. She has been in active practice since her call is now an Intermediate Associate Counsel in our Law Firm, who deals with cases in Civil and Criminal matters in Upper and Lower courts and has passion and adequate energy for advocacy. She heads the Corporate Department of the Firm and deals with issues of compliance for our clients.
Vershima Kwaghker
Associate
Having studied law at Benue State University, Vershima graduated in 2017 and was called to the Nigeria Bar in 2020. He is currently practicing as a junior associate with the firm. Vershima carries on civil, criminal, and corporate practice with vigor and integrity. He handles the firm’s liaison with MDAs and government agencies.
Faith Akanam
Associate
Faith Akanam is a junior Associate primarily focused on the firm’s pro-bono and community advocacy. She is currently honing her skills in Litigation and Corporate law. Faith attended the University of Abuja, where she earned her L.L.B. and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2020. Faith is very good with real estate issues including the compliance issues that arise therefrom having interned for a Real Estate company, and a private civil litigation firm before joining the firm. Faith is a skilled academic and legal writer, with great Communication and Research Skills.
